ccsync

Safety

How ccsync limits writes, tokens, secrets, and manifest size.

ccsync is intentionally scoped to user-level agent setup.

Path Boundaries

Pulled custom skill files are confined to known agent skill directories. A file path that tries to escape the skill root is skipped.

MCP server writes are confined to known user-level MCP config files for each supported agent. Unknown config paths are skipped instead of written.

Token Handling

The web app shows a raw CLI token only when it is created. The CLI stores a SHA-256 hash of that token at:

~/.config/ccsync/config.json

The config file is written with mode 0600.

MCP Secrets

Environment values that were redacted during scan are not written back onto another device. ccsync merges safe MCP server structure and non-redacted values only.

Manifest Limits

The backend validates token hashes, manifest hashes, device identity, item counts, custom skill file size, and total manifest payload size before accepting a push.
